Opening
Prayer
Lord, as we begin a new year,
let us resolve to keep a promise,
seek out a forgotten friend, listen,
laugh, brighten the heart of a
child, encourage the young, appreciate
our elders, express our gratitude,
take pleasure in the beauty and
wonder of life, and speak your
love to others. Dear Lord, guide
us in the new year to grow closer
together in our families, in our
Units, in our world. Let us always
strive to bring peace to the world.
Let us live each day to the fullest.
For all the blessings of the year,
we give you thanks, O Lord. Amen |

Preamble
to the Constitution of the American
Legion Auxiliary
| For
God and Country, we associate
ourselves together for the
following purposes: |
| To uphold
and defend the constitution
of the United States of America; |
| to maintain
law and order; |
| to foster
and perpetuate a one hundred
per cent Americanism; |
| to preserve
the memories and incidents
of our associations during
the Great Wars; |
| to inculcate
a sense of individual obligation
to the community, state and
nation; |
| to combat
the autocracy of both the
classes and the masses; |
| to make
right the master of might; |
| to promote
peace and goodwill on earth; |
| to safeguard
and transmit to posterity
the principles of justice,
freedom, and democracy; |

in and contribute to the accomplishment
of the aims and purposes of

| to consecrate
and sanctify our association
by our devotion to mutual
helpfulness. |
